It\u2019s very important because we draw a lot of people who are away from the area home during this time \u2013 it\u2019s almost like a reunion every year.\u201dArticle contentThis year\u2019s festival will see the return of the moving parade, which McNeil said was a big request from the community. The parade will take place on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Dominion and District Community Centre and ending at Miners Memorial Park.Article contentOther popular events including the Marcia Fiolek Memorial Community Playground Day and Teddy Bear Picnic on Saturday at 1 p.m., Disney and Universal Day on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Dominion and District Community Centre, Soap Box Derby on Monday at 6 p.m. on Turnbull Street, and a car show on Tuesday at the Dominion and District Community Centre parking lot.Article contentThe annual fireworks will also take place this year on Aug. 2 at dusk.
