The three remaining regions (North, Litoral, and Cuyo) together make up just over 13%.<\/p>\n<p>    This imbalance has a structural root. According to data from the think tank Fundar, Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires City and the Buenos Aires province), C\u00f3rdoba, and R\u00edo Negro account for 64% of overnight stays in the country.<\/p>\n<p>    \u201cFor Cuyo, the North, and the Litoral region, the results should be interpreted as indicative rather than as statistically precise measurements equivalent to those for the City of Buenos Aires or Patagonia,\u201d explained the IIEP (Institute of Economic and Political Research).<\/p>\n<p>    You may also be interested in: Four Argentine restaurants awarded a Michelin star in 2026 selection<\/p>\n<p>    The researchers emphasized that the study \u201creveals a country with positively evaluated tourist attractions, especially in the North and Cuyo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    However, they also stressed that there are \u201cclear bottlenecks in services.\u201d According to the analysis of this data, Buenos Aires City lags behind in lodging, the Litoral region shows signs of saturation, and Patagonia bears the highest transportation costs.<\/p>\n<p>    According to the latest official data from INDEC (National Institute of Statistics and Censuses), a total of 4,177 foreign tourists visited Argentina in recent months. While this represents an 8.2% increase, it is a significant drop compared to 2024 (-17.6%).<\/p>\n<p>    Tourist attractions take center stage.\u00a0    The IIEP report observed that \u201cArgentina\u2019s tourism offerings generally generate a very favorable impression on foreign visitors, regardless of the destination,\u201d it explained.<\/p>\n<p>    Tourist attractions are evaluated within four categories: \u201cOvercrowded,\u201d \u201cWorth visiting,\u201d \u201cHigh price,\u201d and \u201cWell maintained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>     The Litoral region has the highest number of mentions of \u201covercrowded\u201d and \u201chigh price,\u201d although the mention of \u201cworth visiting\u201d is among the highest.<br \/>\n    Cuyo combines the fewest mentions of being \u201covercrowded\u201d with the highest percentage of mentions of \u201cworth visiting.\u201d<br \/>\n    The North registers the fewest mentions of high prices and one of the highest values \u200b\u200bin the \u201cwell maintained\u201d category.\u00a0         Transportation worsens in major destinations    In terms of transportation, assessments across various categories showed that major destinations exhibit more problems than inland regions.<\/p>\n<p>     In the \u201covercrowded transportation\u201d category, the fewest mentions correspond to Cuyo, while the City of Buenos Aires and the Litoral region are at the opposite end of the spectrum.<br \/>\n    The Northern region reports the lowest value in \u201cexpensive fares,\u201d while Patagonia registers the most expensive fares, followed by the Litoral region and CABA.<br \/>\n    Cuyo shows the lowest values \u200b\u200bin the \u201cunreliable schedules\u201d section.<br \/>\n    In the \u201csafe travel\u201d category\u2014associated with discussions about road, geographical, and weather conditions\u2014the Northern region and Patagonia led in mentions, while Cuyo was the region with the fewest references to this issue.\u00a0         Contrast in accommodation and traveler advice    Accommodation showed the most striking contrast between the capital and the interior, as the four inland regions surpassed it in every aspect evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>     The North leads in \u201cclean and tidy\u201d and \u201cfriendly staff.\u201d The Litoral region follows closely in \u201cfriendliness.\u201d Cuyo stands out in mentions of \u201cexcellent location.\u201d      In all inland regions, the \u201cnoisy environment\u201d rating drops significantly compared to the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).     Meanwhile, in the \u201ctraveler advice\u201d section, a heterogeneous picture emerges:<\/p>\n<p>     The \u201cuseful recommendation\u201d indicator has a high level of mentions in all regions, with peaks in Cuyo and the North.<br \/>\n    Patagonia leads the conversation on \u201ctips for saving money,\u201d reflecting its profile as an expensive destination.<br \/>\n    Patagonia also tops the mentions of \u201cscam alerts,\u201d as does the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).<br \/>\n    The Litoral region has the highest demand for information on \u201csafe travel\u201d, mainly due to issues related to health safeguards and border regulations.    \t\t\t\t\t                                                \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While Argentina has lost some ground as an international tourist destination, a recent report found that visitors to the country highlight and recommend local tourist attractions.
