Article contentArticle contentThe club president is Pat DeWolfe, who also takes on the role as head coach, teaching new members about the sport.Article contentArticle content\u201cIt\u2019s a great sport,\u201d said DeWolfe. \u201cWe train to get stronger, learn new positions, and we teach safety so that nobody breaks an arm in the process. Similar to chess, it\u2019s about strategy. You see your opponent\u2019s strategy in one match, come up with your own counter, and try it out in the next one. Article content\u201cThree of our members are provincial champions, which I\u2019m very proud of.\u201dArticle contentDeWolfe teaches the newer members about the sport, from safety to basics, across many different weight classes.Article content The Pictou County Armwrestling Club accepts anyone ages 5 and up who is interested in the sport. Pat DeWolfe (middle) is happy to teach anyone new to the sport and looking to get involved. Pat DeWolfeArticle content\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for new members,\u201d DeWolfe said. \u201cWe are a very welcoming community that likes to just hang out and have fun. Article contentPeople like be able to test their strength and technique against others, all in the name of fun. I usually have Sundays off, so that\u2019s when we practice.
