\u201cFirst of all, I didn\u2019t believe that I won,\u201d Zverev told journalists after the match. \u201cThen I saw my box, and they were all celebrating. That\u2019s when I realized that I\u2019ve won. Especially seeing my father raise up his arms, that was when it kind of hit me, \u2018Okay, I won\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n
The win does very little for Zverev in the rankings, where he\u2019ll remain at world No.3 behind Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.\u00a0<\/p>\n
For Cobolli, however, it means a career best, as he reached the top 10 in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles rankings for the first time.<\/p>\n
Zeballos wins doubles titles For Argentine tennis, the biggest success was Horacio Zeballos.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old won his second Roland Garros title in the doubles, alongside long-time partner Marcel Granollers from Spain.<\/p>\n
The duo comfortably defeated Britain\u2019s Henry Patten and Finland\u2019s Harri Heliovaara, 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday, in what was Zeballos\u2019 third Grand Slam crown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt really is something I never expected. You work hard every day, but winning trophies like this is the result of a long and steady effort. So, I\u2019m just really happy,\u201d Zeballos told journalists after the win.<\/p>\n
The Mar de Plata native is enjoying a second career in doubles after a very good singles career, during which he reached the fourth round at Roland Garros, won one title, and climbed as high as world No. 39 in the rankings.<\/p>\n

Broad representation for Argentina, but short-lived The 2026 Roland Garros tournament produced mixed results for Argentine tennis.<\/p>\n
With 12 representatives in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles draws and 17 players competing across all events, Argentina once again fielded a large contingent in Paris.<\/p>\n
Yet while the country\u2019s presence was broad, its impact was limited. Few players advanced into the latter stages of the tournament, underscoring the gap between Argentina\u2019s breadth of participation and its ability to challenge for the biggest prizes.<\/p>\n
A record 10 players made it to the second round of the tournament, but just five pushed into the third round, and only one \u2014 Juan Manuel Cer\u00fandolo \u2014 made it into the second week of the tournament.<\/p>\n
While this year\u2019s Roland Garros saw iconic wins like Cer\u00fandolo\u2019s takedown of world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and Solana Sierra\u2019s victory over Jasmine Paolini, it also left questions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then-top-ranked Argentine Tom\u00e1s Etcheverry was ousted in the first round, and Francisco Cer\u00fandolo, who was coming through Cobolli\u2019s side of the draw, could\u2019ve had a chance to reach his first-ever Grand Slam semifinals.<\/p>\n
