The film was Argentina\u2019s bid for the Oscars.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    While receiving the best breakthrough performance award for Bel\u00e9n actress Camila Plaate, Fonzi also asked for a moment of silence for recent femicide victim Agostina Vega.<\/p>\n<p>    An outspoken activist for women\u2019s rights, Fonzi also referred to the Milei administration\u2019s cut in government funding for film production. \u201cHere we are and here we will be when the Administration\u2019s leave. We will be here,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    Cris Tapia Marchiori\u2019s Gatillero (Triggerman), a single-shot crime thriller that premiered at the Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) in 2025, grabbed best director and four more prizes, including original script and cinematography.<\/p>\n<p>    Daniel Hendler\u2019s 27 Nights grabbed three Sur awards for art direction, costume design and lead actress Maril\u00fa Marini.<\/p>\n<p>    Politics on stage<br \/>\nIn his speech, Hern\u00e1n Findling, president of the Argentine Film Academy, underscored the value of cinema as culture, industry and community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    \u201cNo film is made alone, and neither is a country,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Film Academy has a responsibility to defend the conditions that allow Argentina\u2019s audiovisual sector to keep growing, with a federal outlook and creative freedom.
