President Donald Trump<\/a>‘s MAGA wing of the Republican Party<\/a> is elated following America’s joint military strikes on Iran<\/a> with Israel<\/a> Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham<\/a>, once a Trump foe who has since turned into a top ally, shared that he was ‘in awe of President Trump’s determination to be a man of peace, but at the end of the day, evil’s worst nightmare.’<\/p>\n

‘Well done, Mr. President,’ Graham added, piling on the praise.<\/p>\n

Graham was seen at the White House on Thursday and has been one of the President’s closest advisers on Iran strategy. He also noted that the operation was ‘well planned’ in the post to X.<\/p>\n

Arkansas<\/a> Republican Tom Cotton, who chairs the Senate<\/a> Intelligence Committee, argued that ‘Iran has waged war against the U.S. for 47 years,’ before providing a slew of examples to back up his argument.<\/p>\n

‘The hostage crisis, the Beirut<\/a> Marine barracks, Khobar Towers, roadside bombs in Iraq<\/a> and Afghanistan<\/a> that killed or maimed thousands of American soldiers, the attempted assassination of President Trump,’ Cotton wrote in an X post.<\/p>\n

‘The butcher’s bill has finally come due for the ayatollahs. May God bless and protect our troops on this vital mission of vengeance, and justice, and safety,’ he concluded.<\/p>\n

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker, a Mississippi Republican, called the strikes, ‘a pivotal and necessary operation to protect Americans and American interests.’<\/p>\n

‘The President has stated the operation’s goals clearly: thwart permanently the ayatollahs’ desire to create a nuclear weapon, degrade their ballistic missile force and their production capacity, and destroy their naval and terrorism capabilities,’ Wicker added.<\/p>\n

Republican Rick Crawford, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman, added that prior to the attack, ‘President Trump was very clear about his red line from the start and his expectations of Iran during these negotiations,’ also noting that ‘President Trump has given Iran plenty of opportunities to take the diplomatic route,’ before the strikes.<\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly informed the bipartisan congressional ‘Gang of 8’ intelligence heads shortly before the strikes.<\/p>\n

House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson also noted in a statement that the ‘Gang of 8 was briefed in detail earlier this week that military action may become necessary to protect American troops and American citizens in Iran.’<\/p>\n

‘I received updates from Secretary Rubio thereafter, and I will remain in close contact with the President and the Department of War as this operation proceeds,’ Johnson added.<\/p>\n

Senate Majority Leader John Thune added that he thanked ‘Secretary Rubio for providing updates on these issues throughout the week,’ and ‘looks forward to administration officials briefing all senators about these military operations.’<\/p>\n

But the administration did not seek formal congressional approval,<\/a> which is a prerequisite to war, according to the US Constitution.<\/p>\n

Still, that did not deter top voices in the US House of Representatives from piling on their praise for the president.<\/p>\n

Congresswoman Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican who is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and also co-chairs theIranian Women’s Caucus, noted that ‘America and Israel did not flinch and did not negotiate with darkness. President Trump understood what the weak could not bring themselves to say: that peace is not found in appeasement – it is won.’<\/p>\n

‘The Iranian people have bled for their freedom. Their cries did not fall on deaf ears. Not on Trump’s watch,’ Mace observed.<\/p>\n

Elise Stefanik, a New York Republican who sits on theIntelligence Committee and was briefly nominated as Trump’s ambassador to the UN added that ‘President Trump has to make some of the most difficult decisions imaginable and there is no decision more serious that military action to protect U.S. national security and American lives.’<\/p>\n

Leading conservative voices in the greater political ecosystem chimed in as well.<\/p>\n

American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp wrote on X<\/a>that, ‘It is a diplomatic disaster to draw a line in the sand and not act when it’s crossed. President Trump understands that. Dictators the world over are realizing Trump doesn’t just talk; he will act.’<\/p>\n

Meaghan Mobbs, the director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, noted in a statement that she stands ‘unequivocally with President Trump and his decision to strike Iran,’ while her colleagueEllie Cohanim, an Iranian refugee, argued that ‘the Iranian people …finally have the opportunity to take our proud country back from the Mullah lunatics.’<\/p>\n
