Spending bills require 60 votes, meaning Republicans  who hold just 53 seats  need Democratic support even if their entire caucus backs the House-passed measures.<\/p>\n<p>Funding expires at the end of January &#8211; this Saturday &#8211; without <a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/us-senate\/index.html\" id=\"mol-25d41ca0-fae8-11f0-b6a0-854781d2d12f\">Senate<\/a> action.<\/p>\n<p>Seven Democratic senators previously sided with Republicans in November to end the last shutdown: Catherine Cortez Masto, Dick Durbin, <a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/john-fetterman\/index.html\" id=\"mol-25c04680-fae8-11f0-b6a0-854781d2d12f\">John Fetterman<\/a>, Maggie Hassan, Tim Kaine, Jacky Rosen, and Jeanne Shaheen. In a Monday afternoon statement, Fetterman noted that he wanted DHS funding stripped from the package of government funding bills.<\/p>\n<p>House Democrat Tom Suozzi told supporters in a Monday campaign email that he &#8216;failed&#8217; by voting for the DHS bill, saying he &#8216;failed to view the DHS funding vote as a referendum on the illegal and immoral conduct of ICE in Minneapolis.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans are also skeptical. Rep. Michael McCaul and Sens.
