The international airport just minutes away from Donald Trump‘s Florida home has been officially renamed.
Palm Beach International Airport has, as of Thursday, become the President Donald J Trump International Airport.
‘The 3-letter location identifier for PBI is changing during the overnight to DJT,’ read a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) alert sent out on Wednesday evening.
The change comes after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law in March to rename Trump’s hometown airport after the 45th and 47th President.
Though the FAA three-letter code has changed to DJT, passengers may have to wait to see the President’s initials on their boarding passes.
The airport’s code will remain PBI for reservations, ticketing and baggage tags until August 18, according to its website.
‘I am deeply honored that at 5:01 a.m., Trump Force One will be the first plane to land at the newly renamed Palm Beach International Airport now and forever President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT),’ Eric Trump posted on X celebrating the renaming.
‘There is no person who has done more for Florida and our country, and no one more deserving of this incredible honor. As a son, and someone who flies out of this airport nearly every day, I will forever be proud to see the initials DJT on my boarding pass.’

The newly minted Trump airport handles nearly eight million travelers annually.
Palm Beach County commissioners greenlit a licensing deal allowing Trump’s name on the site, as the Trump Organization has trademarked it.
The deal prohibits the Trumps from profiting off of royalties from the name, though the airport can use the President’s name and image in advertising.
Already, the road signs on highways leading to the airport have been updated to show Trump’s name.
Congress has also pushed proposals to slap the President’s name on other airports as well.
In 2024, House Republicans pushed a bill to rename Washington Dulles International Airport after the President. The campaign-year gambit never garnered any traction, however.
There are 12 airports in the US that are named after presidents, including New York City’s John F Kennedy International Airport and Washington’s Ronald Reagan National Airport.
Trump has also sought to put his name on New York City’s main rail hub Penn Station, which has been met by Democratic opposition.
