Ayatollah warns US will have so safe havens in Middle East in Hajj message
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday that Gulf powers will no longer be a shield for United States bases and the U.S. will no longer have a safe haven in the region, as Tehran and Washington discuss a framework to end their three-month-old war.
The message, published by the Tasnim news agency, was released to mark the start of Hajj – an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
It reads:
What is certain in this regard is that the hands of time will not turn back, and the nations and lands of the region will no longer serve as shields for US bases. The United States not only will no longer have a safe haven for its mischief and for establishing military bases in the region but day by day, it is growing more distant from its former status.
The shaken Zionist regime and the cancerous tumor of Israel are likewise approaching the final stages of their wretched existence, and by Gods grace and in accordance with the decisive and forward-looking words of our magnanimous martyred Leader (may God sanctify his pure soul) ten years ago it will not live to see twentyfive years after that date, God willing.
What the IRGC have said about F-35 attack
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) declared a US F-35 fighter jet had been attacked and an American drone intercepted in a statement carried on its Sepah news website.
CENTCOM, otherwise known as US Central Command, has not commented on the claims but has denied previous attacks claimed by the IRGC.
The statement, which has been published and translated on Telegram, reads:
Continuing its interventionist adventures and aggressive behavior in the region, the US terrorist army entered Iranian airspace in the Persian Gulf, and the defense units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in defense of our country’s territorial integrity and following precise intelligence surveillance, identified and shot down an MQ9 drone.
Also, by shooting down an RQ-4 drone and an F-35 fighter, it forced them to flee and exit the territorial airspace. The Revolutionary Guard has warned against any violation of the ceasefire by the aggressor US Army and considers its right to retaliate legitimate and certain.
