Officers were able to locate who they believe to be the person walking away from the vehicle, based on witness description.Article contentArticle contentPolice observed signs of impairment and arrested the man. He was transported to Cape Breton Regional Hospital by Emergency Health Services. A blood sample was taken to determine blood alcohol concentration.Article contentThe man, 55, was issued a summary offense ticket for failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court in September for the charge of impaired driving.Article contentSERIOUS INJURYArticle contentOn Sunday, Cape Breton Regional Police received a report around 11 p.m. of a vehicle rollover in the ditch along the Louisbourg Highway.Article contentAlbert Bridge Volunteer Fire Department were on scene when police arrived and they had found a 21-year-old man who had been ejected from the vehicle and was serious injured.Article contentHe was taken to Cape Breton Regional Hospital by Emergency Health Services (EHS) with serious injuries and is currently admitted in critical condition.Article contentTraffic safety and forensic identification unit officers processed the scene and a K9 team searched the area to make sure there were no other occupants of the vehicle, which was towed as police continue their investigation.Article content
