President Donald Trump caught the ire of Survivor fans after he preempted the show’s broadcast on Wednesday night.
Viewers took to social media after Trump’s nearly 20-minute primetime speech to vent about the interruption, which came in the midst of a special two-hour episode.
The episode was scheduled to air from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., but the president’s speech interrupted the episode right at the halfway point, around 9 p.m. on the East Coast.
Trump, 79, sought to calm nerves with his speech amid the fallout of his decision to join Israel in launching a bombing campaign on Iran.
In response to the attacks, Iran has retaliated by attacking oil depots and refineries in neighboring countries, as well as by attempting to close the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for transporting crude oil.
Since the joint campaign against Iran began, gas prices have reached a four-dollar national average, according to data from AAA, and the stock market has been thrown into turmoil.

On X, Survivor fans and viewers vented about having their show interrupted, with many of them lashing out at the president.
‘Honestly impeach Trump over messing with my survivor episode,’ one fan joked.
In response to the announcement of the speech, another fan wrote, ‘If this cuts into Survivor I am going to LOSE MY MIND.’
One poster simply wrote that Trump would be preempting the show, but they posted a short meme with an exercise instructor saying, ‘Ban him,’ and ‘Get him out of here.’
One viewer complained that ‘Trump interrupted Survivor, just to say a bunch of dumb s***, Man I love Survivor.’
Other fans were upset because Trump had previously preempted an episode of Survivor with a primetime address.
‘This is the second time Trump is interrupting an episode of Survivor. I’m so annoyed,’ vented one viewer.
‘Trump interrupting ANOTHER episode of Survivor… ENOUGH,’ seethed another fan.

‘Guys the presidential address is interrupting survivor. This is the worst thing trump has ever done,’ joked one viewer.
One furious fan wrote in all caps: ‘PUT SURVIVOR BACK ON I DO NOT GIVE A F*** ABOUT TRUMP OR HIS BULLS***.’
CBS previously announced in a statement that Survivor would resume as soon as Trump’s speech had concluded, so fans were still able to catch all of the show despite the interruption.
Fans previously got a surprise in December of last year, when the show was put on hold for another address from Trump.
That interruption elicited particularly vitriolic reactions from fans, as the president interrupted the season 49 finale episode.
